1966 – Anniversaries: Daughters of Woodland (50th), Hayes Farish Class (20th)
In 1966 the Hayes Farish Class celebrated its 25th anniversary with a hundred members in attendance.
That same year a special worship service was held to honor the 50th Anniversary of the Daughters of Woodland. Church Historian Fan Lee Dalzell presided over the celebration, with Pastor Elmore Ryle speaking. To commemorate the milestone, the Daughters undertook the renovation of the church parlor. This anteroom adjacent to the sanctuary, measured…….and was used variously - by the choir, and for other performances.
The Daughters of Woodland would render it in a more refined style: essentially a sitting room useful for individual contemplation, reading, small gatherings…yet still accessible for church activities. In 1968 the Daughters voted to combine their efforts with the Christian Women’s Fellowship.
Junior Choir, 1966
